Lighting Design Engineer

Location: Normanton, West Yorkshire
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 Hours Per Week

About the Role
We are looking for a Lighting Design Engineer to join our team responsible for creating and providing a high standard of lighting designs and specifications to meet our customer’s requirements. Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:
 

  • Design and co-ordinate lighting projects from start to finish, using information provided to create a finished presentation for the customer
  • Liaise with the client and other internal departments to discuss ideas, concepts and alternative solutions where required
  • Involved in the creating and designing of well-constructed plans, ensuring building regulations are met whilst providing a high level of knowledge and service to the customer
  • Prepare detailed plans for both internal and external lighting requirements using Relux & Dialux
  • Work as a team to discuss and implement ideas on projects
  • Brief and liaise with the Lighting Design Manager, Technical Director and other departments to ensure projects meet the building regulations and compliance

 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated individual who is keen to develop with a growing business. Our ideal candidate must have:
 

  • A minimum of 2 years working within a Lighting Design Engineer role
  • LIA qualification
  • Experience using lighting design software such as Relux, Dialux and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of lighting fundamentals & specifications
  • Organisational and numerical skills to manage projects & budgets
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, with close attention to detail
  • Advanced LIA certificate is desirable but not essential

Being part of our Light & Design team, you will continually develop your knowledge through on-site training with our Technical Director. Upon completing 1 year service, you will have the opportunity to attend external LIA academy training courses to advance your knowledge.
