National Sales Manager

Salary: Negotiable based on experience
 

BELL Lighting was established in 1920 and is a leading manufacturer of quality lamps and luminaires with 100 years’ experience of industry knowledge.

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently looking for a National Sales Manager to join our team in the United Kingdom to sell to our network of electrical wholesale customers. 

 

The Role

Primary Objective
  • To daily manage and motivate a high-performance external sales team on a national basis.
  • Contribute and implement the sales growth business strategy as directed by the Sales Director.
  • Competitive attitude with a drive to succeed.
  • Superior problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrate year on year sales growth and successful selling against individual and team targets along with pre-set company budgets.
  • Develop the sales and specification of BELL Lighting products via the Electrical Wholesale Market.
  • Strong negotiation skills. Establish, as a minimum, preferred supplier status or framework agreement with target accounts, groups and companies.
  • Co-ordinate company approach with customer network via accompaniment support days and visits in the field.
  • To develop and influence significant, measurable growth in targeted product sectors and customer groups.
Key Responsibilities 
  • To deliver increased sales and profit margin through developing the sales team and account customer base.
  • To identify the decision makers and influencers within specified target national key account organisations, present relevant solutions/products and follow through as required to ensure orders are won and closed.
  • To monitor, maintain and manage all contacts, opportunities and relationships via company CRM.
  • To support National sales meetings, training events, exhibitions, conferences, and meetings as required.

General Duties
  • Generate sales and team analysis reports on time and as agreed and defined by the Sales Director.
  • Provide regular feedback on the status of actions and initiatives.
  • Develop good working relationships across all levels and departments in the BELL Lighting business.
  • Keep up to date with the latest relevant industry news and social media.  Keep line manager informed of all competitors moves associated with product, price, and promotional activities.
  • To assist with product research by monitoring and identifying trends, factors and conditions which influence the performance of product, prospective and competitor offers.
  • To encourage and assist other members of the organisation (outside of sales) where appropriate or required.
  • To monitor and control expenses incurred in the implementation of company duties, both for yourself and for your team.
  • To work within autonomy guidelines set by the senior management team.
  • To work within set company sales budgets for events and the suchlike.
  • To maintain all company property at disposal for the team is in good order.
  • To co-operate in the operation of company policies, HR, company handbook, health & safety procedures.
  • To perform other duties to assist the smooth running of the business as and when required.
  • Achieve tasks, objectives and budgeted sales targets within required timescales.
  • Follow-up outstanding items to ensure customer satisfaction and service the highest priority.
  • Resolve issues that arise in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Experience
  • A proven track record in sales and have experience of managing a sales team.
  • You will have worked within the Lighting / Electrical Wholesale Industry for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience.
  • Relentless work ethic.
  • Possess a high level of negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Be flexible in the work environment, results orientated with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to network across various high-level influencers, identifying customer needs through a sound knowledge of their business and industry sector.
  • Well organised, detailed and structured with a systematic approach to tasks.
  • Ability to train, mentor and guide in the promotion and application of technical lighting products.
  • Essential IT Skills: Computer literate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Phocas and various CRM systems.
  • Current UK Driving Licence.
Measurement
  • Exceed pre-agreed revenue targets and customer sales goals for the business.
  • Achieve weekly, monthly, annual pre-agreed and set KPI’s.
