Castleside Primary School is part of the New College Durham Academies Trust; the school puts a strong emphasis on creating a learning environment (both indoors and outdoors) in which children are happy and secure.

We paid a visit to Castleside during the recent half-term break, with the intention of photographing all areas where BELL Lighting fittings had been installed. Over 98 BELL Lighting products were fitted in total, with the majority of the products being our Ultra CCT Wattage Switchable Integrated LED Battens. Alongside our reliable Batten products, our Arial Converter was the light source of choice for all corridor areas; our Converter product was chosen thanks to the adaptable nature of the fitting, as it can be used to cover an array of cut-outs.

As Castleside's vision states, they want to ensure that the learning environment is one where children can feel safe and happy. Lighting plays an important role in this vision, as the conditions in a school need to be suitable to allow learning to take place. The CCT and Wattage Switchable functionality of our products was deemed to be of significant importance, as this allows for the school to make changes to certain classrooms at a future date, should the layout or use of different spaces at the school require adaptation. The new installation increased the lighting levels across the site dramatically, and the lighting upgrade represents a notable investment from Castleside Primary School.
