Lok'n Store, Portsmouth, offers homeowners, renters, students, and business users secure self-storage units which are high in quality and varied in choice.

BELL Lighting was the chosen manufacturer for a significant lighting upgrade at the site, with 604 light fittings being replaced in total. Working closely with Mico Lighting, the project was a notable success, providing a substantial energy saving, an improvement in lighting levels and the overall look of the areas involved, and an estimated return on investment in just over 8 months. The project comprised of 180 of our Spectrum Emergency LED Bulkheads, 24 of our Aqua 1 CCT Wattage Switchable LED Bulkheads, and 400 of our Ultra LED Integrated Battens.

BELL Lighting was chosen as a frontrunner for the project due to the longstanding history of our company and thanks to the quality of the products which we offer.

“BELL were able to produce a bespoke product which achieved our ambitious energy consumption targets whilst also matching our aesthetic demands, coupled with a strong warranty offering. Our store presentation is really important to us, it is one of the key determining factors in a customer choosing to store their belongings in our buildings. The new products bring the Portsmouth site in line with modern standards – bright, easy to navigate and instantaneous illumination. We have managed to reduce energy consumption from lighting products by over 50% but light levels, if anything, have improved. The removal of fluorescent fittings significantly reduces ongoing costs for maintenance, reduces downtime and ultimately means less electrical waste to be processed from lamp changes.”
