Our Joint Managing Directors, Ralph and Trevor Grote, have been named in the UK’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2024!
Ralph and Trevor have been recognised by the LDC in their Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2024 list, in partnership with The Times. The list was created by trusted investment partner LDC – part of Lloyds Banking Group, and the Top 50 initiative celebrates entrepreneurs who demonstrate remarkable ambition, with the list now in existence for seven years.
This year the programme received more than 700 nominations, showcasing the exceptional individuals building successful and growing businesses across the UK.
The business leaders featured in The LDC Top 50 for 2024 are making a real impact by creating jobs, promoting social equality, championing sustainability, expanding internationally and integrating purpose into their business practices. They operate from 39 towns and cities across the UK and span every sector of the economy, whilst collectively they employ 5,146 people and generate revenues of more than £1.1bn.
The recognition for BELL Lighting, Ralph, and Trevor, comes on the back of our expansion into a new National Distribution Centre, along with the release of circular economy products into the Lighting market. Our push towards sustainability, with Carbon Neutral Status now being achieved in two consecutive years and actions taken to bring us closer to Net Zero Status, marks a large part of our future planning and represents real ambition in an industry which produces considerable waste each year. Our expansion into BELL House also exemplifies the ambition of our company, as we have been a growing business year-on-year for some time, and rather than resting on our success, we chose to expand into a facility which is substantially larger than our previous headquarters. Our new home allows for higher rates of production and stockholding, whilst also giving us room to expand our staff numbers.
Ralph and Trevor commented on the shortlisting, stating that:

Our move to BELL House, and our sustainability planning, resulting in being awarded Carbon Neutral Status for two consecutive years, are the first steps towards our vision for BELL Lighting.
