We recently visited the Aldershot Garrison M.O.D Rugby Stadium in order to produce a case study which highlighted the fantastic results which were provided by our Skyline Powertron Asymmetric LED Floodlights.
The project saw 22 of our Skyline Powertron fittings installed onto 8 columns with a 15m mounting height. A mixture of our 1800W and 1200W options were expertly installed by Sports Lighting and JST Contractors; we cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the installation, with the in-person results mirroring our lighting design offer in meticulous fashion.
The Rugby Stadium at Aldershot Garrison dates back to the 19th century, with the arena being one of the key assets at the site. The area hosts weekly play at various levels, attracting spectators, friends and family members of those serving at Aldershot Garrison, and even teams who attend matches in order to provide televised coverage of matches for the army channel.
Our products replaced the previous Metal Halide products which were in place, with BELL Lighting, along with Sports Lighting, tasked with updating the fittings which were onsite. Along with the obvious energy savings which came as a result of moving to LED, the Skyline Powertron allowed for a significant increase in playing conditions, with lighting levels being greatly improved. Our fittings also provided a 4000K colour temperature which was more suited to the area, where the previous fittings had begun to depreciate, with an almost orange end result provided previously. The reduction in maintenance costs was also a key factor for the project update, with the teamwork which was on show between BELL Lighting, Sports Lighting, and JST Contractors, along with the outstanding support shown from Aspire at Aldershot Garrison, the Skyline Powertron was able to provide a solution which greatly lowered the cost and effort relating to maintenance at the Rugby Stadium. The improved wiring and expert installation, along with the machinery used on behalf of Sports Lighting and JST Contractors, ensured that the project was a success.
Another key area which was noted during an interview process with both Sports Lighting and Richard from Aspire was our warranty offer. Richard noted that:
"Another thing that was key for us, was the 10 year warranty which BELL Lighting offer, along with the 2 year on-site warranty. This gave us peace of mind and was superior in comparison to the other options which we looked at."
It was a real pleasure to carry out a case study visit at such a prestigious site, with Kim from Sports Lighting further complementing the Skyline Powertron, stating that:
"The fitting of it is fantastic; it's easy to fit alongside the columns which were used on this project. The control of spillage is really good with the product - it's one of the best on the market and there won't be many fittings which could outdo what the product has done on that pitch. I'm pleased to use it and I will use it a lot more in the future. If there are ever any issues, we know that BELL Lighting are just a phone call away and things are always put right quickly with the support from the team. Working with BELL, we make a great team."
From a BELL Lighting perspective, we want to thank everyone involved in making the project a success - we are delighted with the trust which was shown in us from Aldershot Garrison, Richard from Aspire, Kim from Sports Lighting, JST Contractors and everyone else who was part of the process. Sports Lighting in particular have been a great partner for the project, with their excellent equipment which they have available for installation, rivalling all of the big names in the industry, to their willingness to work with us as a team to provide the best solution possible. It has been a pleasure to work on the project and we are pleased that we are able to share this success story with our audience.
We would also like to highlight the great work which has been carried out for the project by our Lighting Design function, along with the excellent support which was provided by our National Key Accounts & Project Manager, Lee Gaskell.
