We recently returned to Aldershot Garrison supporting the latest phase of Sports Lighting upgrades undertaken at the site.
The most recent installation at Aldershot Garrison came in the form of a major update to the Queen’s Parade Sports Pitches on Queen’s Avenue. Following the success of our previous project at the M.O.D Rugby Stadium across the road, SJB Floodlighting opted for our Skyline Powertron Asymmetric LED Floodlights to elevate the lighting quality and reliability of the facilities.
Project Overview
A total of 36 Skyline Powertron fittings were installed to illuminate the playing fields at Queen’s Parade, providing high-performance, uniform lighting for the range of sporting activity that takes place on the grounds. To ensure excellent control of light distribution, a combination of our Deep and Shallow Shields were incorporated where necessary, significantly reducing horizontal light spillage and providing optimal comfort for both players and the surrounding community.
Enhanced Performance and Reduced Environmental Impact
As with the earlier Rugby Stadium upgrade, this project replaces ageing technology with modern LED fittings. The move to the Skyline Powertron offers a host of benefits:
Improved lighting levels across the full span of pitches.
Consistent 4200K colour temperature, providing clearer visibility and a more natural playing environment.
Significant reductions in energy consumption, supporting the ongoing sustainability objectives onsite.
Lower maintenance requirements, thanks to the durability and long lifespan of the fittings.
The shields used throughout the site played an important role in refining the installation, ensuring that high-quality illumination was delivered exactly where needed while minimising the impact on neighbouring areas.
Acknowledgements
We would like to extend our thanks to all the stakeholders at Aldershot Garrison for their continued trust in BELL Lighting. We also acknowledge the outstanding contributions from our Lighting Design team and our National Key Accounts & Project Manager, Lee Gaskell, whose support has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.
We are proud to share this new success story and delighted that the Skyline Powertron range continues to make a meaningful impact on such a significant and well-used sporting environment.
